Thunder Canyon has an improved queue as well. Very nicely done to fit the theme.

Moving over to Coaster Alley, we stumbled upon the biggest surprise of the 2017 season - the Sky Diver is gone! In its place is a nice new planter and fresh landscaping/fencing. You would never have known it was here before.

Let's pause for a moment so we can comment on this change: First up, we were never fans of the Sky Diver. It's a very standard ride you can find at many traveling carnivals. While Silverwood's model was well-kept, it still was a very painful ride that didn't deliver much in terms of the "fun" factor. However, until Spin Cycle arrived, it really was about the only truly thrilling flat ride in the park. So the timing of its removal is fine. What we don't like is seeing another flat ride removed, with no replacement. That's twice now in 3 years (the Trabant was removed for an upcharge basketball game back in 2014). We hope Silverwood has some plans for additional flat rides. We have no problem with rides being removed, we just would rather see them replaced with rides instead of games or scenery.

Nick Norton's "Phantasm" magic show continues to run this year. We found it much improved from the 2016 version, which was already a great show. In fact, we would go so far as to say the 2017 version is his best show ever. And that's saying a lot. There's a reason this guy was voted #1 male theme park performer in the world. GO. SEE. NICK'S. SHOW. You won't believe it.

Across from the theater and sweet shop, there is some enhanced landscaping. A nice touch to cover the openness of this grassy area.

Another new planter between the gift shop and the Barnstormer. Silverwood just keeps improving its landscaping every single year!

More landscaping improvements. It's quite amazing as there is no need to do this each year, but they keep doing it anyway. Really makes the place special.

Silverwood's train ride, like its magic show, continues to be enhanced and improved every season. This year, there were new props all throughout the train station. Take the time to look around during your next visit. There are a lot of great little props, and even a few easter eggs if you take the time to read!

Another look at the train station props. Great fun!
