Riptide Racer makes a nice backdrop from the lazy river.

Another look at how the slides tower over Polliwog Park.

With the expansion, the waterfall at Polliwog Park has been removed. It’s great fun to watch people play at Polliwog Park from the queue for Riptide Racer.

Another close up of how this side area has changed.

Before moving on, we’d like to summarize our thoughts on the new slide. Once again, Silverwood has made a great move in adding Riptide Racer. The slide is great for all ages, capacity is adequate for the crowds, and the racing aspect really makes this one of the top attractions in all of Boulder Beach. Its location is great, as this end of the park really needed something new and thrilling. We hope Silverwood will maintain the racing aspect, including the scoreboard, as the years go on, as we’ve seen these slides at other parks become neglected so that the racing aspect all but vanishes, and you are left with a rather mediocre experience. One tip we learned quickly, should you choose to ride: lift up the front of your mat and put the pressure on your elbows as you ride. This not only greatly increases your chance of winning the race, but it also prevents water from splashing up into your view for the majority of the ride. Overall, Kudos to Silverwood for a job well done - Riptide Racer is hit!

The train received a new storyline again this year, with our guide adopting a British accent and assuming the role of exploration leader. It’s a nice change from the usual “wild west” type theming.

The buffalo heard were out in full force. Always a special treat.

The Sasquatch has taken on an even larger role as part of the train ride, and we like it.
