The half-pipe section of the ride has a pretty cool design to it.

As you drop into the half pipe, your raft picks up speed. Then it's a matter of riding back and forth across the tube.

As with Avalanche Mountain, the more weight you can get in your tube, the higher you'll go.

Vertical is not uncommon on this part of the ride.

As the tube settles down from the half-pipe, it heads around the turn and eventually back into the darkness. The remainder of the slide is a very long (longest slide in the park) journey through darkness, turns, and twists. There is just enough light to tell where you are headed and who is riding with you, which adds a bit to the fun, as opposed to a pitch-black journey.

You can get a feel here for how massive the half-pipe really is.

Silverwood has again done an excellent job of theming their slides. Seriously, this whole thing could have just been built up on ugly steel supports, but it wasn't. And that makes a HUGE difference.

Ricochet Rapids looks like it always belonged here, doesn't it?
