Here's the entrance to the "nest" itself, right next to the Thunder Canyon entrance.

Inside, we found a much longer tunnel, complete with scareactors and spiders everywhere. Kudos to Silverwood on this one - taking the concept from last year and giving it an impressive boost! Now, if only this concept will make its way into the Thunder Canyon trench for an entire spider-themed haunted attraction next year??!!? Hey, we can dream, right? :)

Next up - the entrance to this year's version of the Crime Scene scare zone. It was given an upgrade with a new lighting package, and more decorations. We loved the neon lights under the Tremors tracks!

The opposite end of this scare zone, all the way back by the far switchback of the Tremors queue. The entire area was much bigger and more elaborate than last year, when it was only the section between the two Tremors overpasses.

More of the scare zone, alongside the Tremors queue. It was fun standing in line for the coaster and seeing people react to "Leatherface" and his infamous chainsaw!

The Dollhouse - a new scarezone back by the Super Round-Up. This was placed right where the exit path from Terror Canyon met up with the main walkway. The set was pretty cool looking, and a few "doll" scareactors made this a fun addition.

Over along the east side of the train station and main street was the Quarantine Zone scare zone. Appropriately themed to fit in with the Zombiewood Express, this featured several fun sets and props, as well as plenty of zombies to keep your heart pounding!

Lastly, The Crypts. This area in the Country Carnival just before Clown Town sported some fun photo op props as well as graveyard scenes, coffins, a hearse, and more. Watch out for that "statue" in the middle, it might not be made of stone!

More of the great sets and props in the Crypts.

And that wraps it up for the scarezones. We found this to be one of the best improvements for 2014. It felt as if almost no section of the park was left untouched, and all the scarezones that returned from last year were greatly enhanced. Very well done! Now, let's move on to pics from the five haunted attractions.
