Leading up to the queue, the outside of the buidling was nicely decorated and themed.

The same storyline followed as last year - guests hear audio journal entries telling of a group of archeologists gone missing, only a few remain, and the markings on the wall suggest something evil was predicted for this very day.

Inside, many of the same impressive "temple" sets were found, with a few new special effects.

Very elaborate markings and theming.

While the Ancient Ruins still packed a punch, we have to admit we missed having it in the Thunder Canyon trench. There is something about that location that gives a very real and trapped feeling to the surroundings. On the other hand, the attraction did go on for a surprising length of time - it almost felt longer than its previous version. Overall it was a great haunt...we just have some nostalgia for its former home. :)

On to haunt #4 - the legendary Blood Bayou. Again, the park had a TV showing a news broadcast, and this year the sound was working! It was a great addition and made the line wait much more interesting.

Closer to the entrance, pictures of missing people lined the walls.

Inside the building, the queue section leading up to the entrance doors seemed a lot more enshrouded in trees, bushes, and hanging vines. Extra lighting and sound effects were used to add thunder and lightning.
