And the huge gargoyle anamatronic was alive and well, informing guests of their impending doom once inside the haunt.

We again had difficulty getting some good shots inside the walkthrough, but the attraction's reputation speaks for itself. This haunt is still just as elaborate and impressive as always. Much of it will be familiar to those who have been through it before, but just the sheer detail and incredible amount of effort that goes into this every year makes it worth coming back again and again!

Last but certainly not least, the Zombiewood Express. This year, the giant cattle guard with the teeth was removed from the front of the train, but the skull remained.

The queue area was expanded to accomodate many more people. You can definitely tell how popular this is just by the lines!

The entrance was moved over to the north side of the train station to accomodate the expanded queue area. As usual, the entire area looked awesome!

The train was decked out in its usual fashion, with huge gatling guns, zombie hunters, and more.

We missed getting a shot of Ivana last year, so we made sure to get a good picture this time!

Out in the woods, several new scenes have been added. This one uses the abandoned camp bus and tent site that used to be over by Terror Canyon Trail.

Another great scene is always the section at the south end of the airstrip. This year it was actually set up and themed with several cars with flames and explosions coming out of them. Really added to the effectiveness of this part of the show.

As usual, this show was very fun and very well done. Nick Norton does a fantastic job combining the perfect mix of humor, entertainment, and great music along the way. Fortunately, all the zombies were taken out, and we survived the journey! Remember, this show is definitely not family friendly, so take the warnings seriously!!

And to keep up with tradition, we'll end with a shot of Timber Terror backwards. We'd come out to Scarywood if nothing else but to get a couple rides in on this - it rocks!!

At the end of the day, Scarywood 2014 left us very satisfied. While most of the attractions and scare zones were the same as 2013, everything was noticeably improved almost without exception. It wasn't just a little here and a little there. The entire park was just awesome. We'll be looking forward to what 2015 has in store, but in the meantime, there are still two weekends left. So if you haven't been out, stop thinking about it and just go. You don't want to miss it!

Your friends,
Mike and Chris
