For those who have followed our online efforts for nearly two decades now, you know that we are brothers based in the theme-park starved Northwest corner of the United States. This is an area that is desperately lacking in rides and attractions, thanks in large part to the relatively cool and wet climate. Our local park is Silverwood Theme Park, which we’ve covered extensively for years now. Our intent is still to provide in depth coverage of Silverwood here at Roller Coaster Alley as we move forward, but we’re branching out with a brand new site: MouseLists.com.
There are a couple of reasons for this. First, as mentioned, the lack of theme park offerings in the PNW makes reviewing and reporting on this topic a bit, er, challenging. The reality is: there just isn’t that much going on up here to talk about. Silverwood is fantastic, and we highly recommend it to all, but in reality, it’s a relatively small regional park in a very remote area.
The second reason for our new endeavor is that we’ve been fortunate to have been to a lot of different theme parks. In reality, over the past several years we’ve visited every single Disney Resort multiple times, nearly all of the Universal Resorts, every Six Flags park in the US, every Cedar Fair Park, every Sea World Park, every Herschend Park, and many other regional and local parks around the globe. We’re not saying all this to brag. Rather, we’re saying that due to our first-hand experience, we feel qualified to give some insights and opinions since we’ve actually been there, done that.
Our focus, for now, is a topic that we debate with each other on a regular basis, and that is: “which version of [attraction] is the best?”. Everyone loves comparisons, lists, rankings, etc. Our goal is to provide an overview of the attraction, call out some of the major similarities and differences, and then ultimately, rank the different versions from our least favorite to favorite. There’s going to be a lot in here that you won’t agree with – and that’s the point. We want to spark discussion, debate, and get those who have experienced these attractions (whether in person, or via an online video) to share their thoughts as well.
In the end, we hope you’ll take this for exactly what it’s meant to be: a fun way to spark insightful conversation and healthy debate about what makes these attractions great, and why your favorite is what it is. So head over to MouseLists.com and take a read. We’ve started with five posts about various Disney attractions around the world. We hope you enjoy it!
Have you been to many theme parks outside of the PNW? Which ones are your favorites?
