The Roller Coaster Alley team was at Silverwood for the final day of the 2023 regular season on Sunday September 24th. In this post, we’ll share some general updates from around the park, info on crowds, and most importantly, construction progress on Emerald Forest!

After morning rain showers, the clouds broke to provide a perfect fall day with sunshine and relatively warm temperatures. Upon exiting the freeway, we noticed a huge area being cleared.  Is this an extension of the parking lot, or something else?

Of course the big news is the addition of Emerald Forest to Boulder Beach in 2024.  We covered this in our previous post here.  Parts and pieces for Eagle Hunt and Salmon Run have already arrived on site!

A wide view captures all of the construction equipment and parts:

Signage in the park has been updated to advertise for both Emerald Forest and Scarywwood 2023.  Will you be at Scarywood?  We will, and as always will cover the event here!

The park was extremely busy on Sunday.  We suspect a lot of season passholders were getting in that “one last trip”.  The line for the train was so long, that if you were in the back, you had to wait 2 cycles.  A nice touch that was new to us: a group of country singers serenade riders waiting in line while the train is being cleaned from the previous cycle.  They did a great job!

Nick Norton’s magic show sold out both shows well in advance of showtimes on Sunday.  Not a surprise; this may be the single best attraction in Silverwood.

We did noticed some construction around the theater building.  Not sure what’s going on here.

Another hidden gem at Silverwood is the Main Street Theatre, though we feel it’s long past time for the park to add something premium here…the 3 Stooges and Gone with the Wind have gotten a bit tired, and there seems to be a real revenue opportunity at the concession stand if something more popular could draw in crowds from the summer heat and/or seasonal rain.  (We personally miss the old 80’s Garfield cartoons.)

Timber Terror was running backwards, as it always does this time of year.  Such a great bonus to experience this great wooden coaster in this unique way.

We’ll finish this update with a shot of Stunt Pilot alongside the autumn foliage.  Still the best coaster in the park, hands down.

That wraps up this update!  Let us know what you enjoyed most from the 2023 season at Silverwood!  And be sure to stick with us as we’ll soon have full coverage from Scarywood 2023!
