Hello Silverwood fans, and welcome to Roller Coaster Alley version 5.0! We’ve had a little spare time on our hands as of late (okay, maybe a lot of spare time!), and we felt it was time to give the site a bit of a facelift. We’re excited to share the new look and functionality, plus a few other new things as well.
We’ve been on this journey for almost 20 years now. It’s hard to believe it’s been that long. Back when we originally launched the page, our goal was to be a place for Silverwood fans to come together, learn about the park, and interact. Our original site had park information, rumors, ride reviews, user-submitted trip reports, and even…lime green text (it sounded like a good idea at the time). Over the years, we’ve evolved the look and feel of the site, adding some new things that worked well, and others that didn’t really pan out. But at the core, we always strove to live up to our original vision.
A few years ago, we realized that much of the content we had been putting out was a lot more reminiscent of a blog as compared to simply an informational page. That got us thinking – wouldn’t it be fun to do more opinion-based stuff? So we launched the RCA Blog as an official new section of the site to start putting out some of that content. We’ve had a blast working things from that angle, and we think that’s the type of content that interests our readers the most.
That’s where version 5.0 comes in. We’ve made the switch to some new tools on the backend which give us a lot more flexibility. We’ve now got an improved comments section, new search functionality, and most importantly, a much easier platform for getting new content created and posted faster. You can also sign up, via the comments section, to be notified anytime we post a new article. You’ll also note we’re ditching all the general park information. Silverwood’s official website does a great job with that content; having it here is a bit redundant.
Finally, we’re planning to branch out a little bit in terms of our content. We’ve primarily focused on Silverwood in the past, with a little bit of the Coeur d’Alene area added in. We’ll be expanding on the CDA area, plus covering more parks around the Northwest. Last but not least, we’re planning to add some new content about a little roller coaster construction company from the northwest called RMC – we think some of you might have heard of them. 🙂 Rest assured though, we’re first and foremost The Unofficial Website of Silverwood Theme Park. And we always will be.
All that said, we hope you enjoy the refreshed look of the site, and we look forward to continuing to bring you great information for years to come!
Do you like our new look? Hate it? Miss the lime green text from 2001? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, as well as any suggestions you may have for topics you’d like to see!

This is a great improvement! Hopefully the park does the same, not withstanding it’s excellent already!
